Sibylle Baier

Recently I have discovered Sibylle Baier and her one and only album Colour Green; a compilation of tracks which were recorded on reel to reel tapes back in the 70's. Years later, her son Robby was awesome enough to release the old recordings for the world to fall in love with in 2006. A folk goddess, is how I would sum her up.

The album features her velvety voice, deep, dark lyrics and an out-of-tune guitar. Colour Green takes lo-fi to a whole other level. Robby also runs the simple Sibylle website, and lets us know that she has no interest her recent accolades. With a disdain for computers and fame, the most she knows about her works' recognition is handed to her in stories from her friends and family.

Open both of those links at the same time, and listen. I almost thought it was meant to be that way... hmmm...
